ITU announces nominees for inaugural Triathlon Hall of Fame

The International Triathlon Union is pleased to announce the nominees for its first-ever ITU Hall of Fame. We could be incorrect here, but it looks like two of the elite men races here in Ireland. Hamish Carter (NZL) in an World Cup triathlon back in the 1990′s and Spencer Smith (GBR) at TriAthy 2008. Have we missed any? The list only includes athletes who have retired, so the like of current elites who have raced in Ireland like Javier Gomez, the brownlee brothers, Non Stanford and others will probably make it into the Hall of Fame after they retire.

Humbert Olympic Triathlon 2014 – Swinford Tri Sports

Results from the Humbert Olympic Triathlon on 27 July 2014 in Swinford, Co. Mayo, organised by Swinford Tri Sports. It was a clean sweep of the women’s podium for Liquid Motion Tri club, as Lorraine Carey, Deirdre Lynn and Sharon O’Hara took the women podium. Stephen Donnelly and Brian Sexton were close throughout the race, but Stephen eventually took the win by a minute from the fast finishing Brian.
