Eimear Mullan wins Ironman 70.3 UK – Jen Duffy 10th
Eimear Mullan wins Ironman 70.3 UK for the 2nd year in a row, while Jen Duffy takes 10th. This time last year Ironman 70.3UK was Eimear’s first Ironman win, when she was still working full time around training.
Westport Triathlon – Westport Tri Club
Results from the Westport Sprint Triathlon organised by Westport Tri Club with the support of the Carton Hotel Westport and Hibernia College Dublin. Westport Triathlon distances: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run. Westport Triathlon results
Tri Monkstown – Cork – Irish Heart Foundation
Results from the Tri-Monktown in aid of the Irish Heart foundation. Elites were out in force with Bryan Keane taking the men’s title ahead of Chris Mintern. Similarly the women’s title was taken by Joyce Wolfe, who finished 9th overall.
Fighting Cancer Triathlon – Mullingar
Results from the Fighting Cancer Triathlon in Mullingar, which is organised with help from Midlands Tri Club.
Gold and Silver at the AG European Triathlon Championships
Kevin Thornton won gold in the 25-29 age-group and Deirdre Casey took silver in the 30-34 age-group at the Olympic distance European Triathlon Championships in Alanya, Turkey.
Dunmore East Triathlon postponed
The Hook or by Crook Triathlon due to take place in Dunmore East this Saturday has been postponed. This is a mark of respect for the deceased fishermen.
Bray Aquathlon – Wicklow Tri Club
Results are coming in from the first of the Bray Aquathlons organised by Wicklow Tri Club. Taking his first win was Alex Gray who works for Martello, one of the Aquathon Series big supporters.
Steve Macklin breaking through barriers
32 year old Steve Macklin entered his first race in March. He went on to winning the Naas duathlon. He has been unstoppable ever since, winning last week’s Runways Duathlon in the Phoenix Park.
