Bryan Keane produced yet another quality result in the European Duathlon Championships in Nancy, France. Keane arrived into T1 with all the main contenders, then onto the bike the group was whittled down to a core of 11 who opened almost a two minute lead on the chase pack. This group of 11 filled the top 11 spots, with Keane 8th across the line.
No Irish athlete has produced a similar result in the last decade. Even Mark McDowell back in the early naughties didn’t make it into the top ten.
The other Irish athlete in the elite mens’ field was Robert Wade, who came in 22nd and was the first athlete home for the 3rd pack into T2.
