Kilkee Triathlon

Initial results are just in from Kilkee.  Colm Turner (Limerick Tri) pulled out the fasted bike split of the day to overtake early leader; Bjorn Ludick at the end of the cycle.  Turner then went onto post the fastest run split to leave him 2mins clear crossing the line, making him the first Limerick man to win Kilkee in over a decade.  Ludick’s recent foot injury showed on the run and he was soon passed by Mark Nolan (Cork Tri), who repeated his 2nd position from last weekend’s Dunmore East Triathlon.  However Ludick held on for 3rd spot by a 10 second margin from Kevin Keane (Belpark/Wheelworx).

In the Women’s race it was a repeat of Valentia & Athy at the top, with Amy Wolfe (Cork Tri) holding off last year’s winner Elena Maslova (CoachElena.com), while the 2006 Kilkee winner Aoife O’Connor was 3rd.
