Joyce Wolfe winning the Waterford Duathlon earlier this year.
Joyce Wolfe (Cork Tri) finished 7th woman overall in Ironman Austria today in a time of 9:46:43. Only 48 seconds off the Irish Record set by Tara Nolan in 2007. Joyce’s time was faster than all but one of the irish men, Alan Ryan (3dtri) who produced a 9:26:30. Alan held the Irish Ironman record for a period in 2008 with a time of 9:17:12.
Meanwhile in Frankfurt, the non-wetsuit swim in Ironman Germany didn’t suit the current Irish record holder; Liam Dolan (Setanta Tri), who was actually pipped by his club mate Owen Martin. Liam & Owen’s times were 9:32:56 and 9:28:07 respectively.
