Hi-Elbow Aquathon – Race report by Derek Patterson

The highly professional Hi Elbow club staged a round of the RNLI Aquathon series at Browns Bay Beach, Islandmagee. Co.Antrim, sponsored by Gordons Chemists
Though there was plenty of elite talent on show braving the changeable weather the kids stole the show covering a shorter version of the 750m sea swim and 5k run.
Carl Russell, former Pole vaulter & Portrush surf shop owner won the mens from Greg foster with Andrew Farrell just pipping Alex Donald for 3rd.
Trudy Brown led the girls home after a calm but cool 2 lap swim from Gemma Davies, Jenny Magill and newcomer Jane Savage.
Beautiful location and worthy cause though hard to beat a sofa and Moto GP on a wet Sunday.
