Ben Shaw achieved his first ITU Asian Cup podium in the Philippines at the Subic Bay ITU Asian Cup triathlon. In particular Shaw showed how much his run has improved, as he has the 2nd fastest run of the day to secure his 2nd position overall after coming into T2 in the lead pack of five who broke away after the swim.

Gavin Noble was 25th today at the Huatulco ITU Triathlon World Cup in Mexico. Unfortunately Gav’s run let him down today, in what was another first pack swim and first pack bike race for him.

Aoife Lynch (Cycleway/Pulse) was 2nd overall at the Lisbon International Triathlon. Lisbon is a half-ironman distance triathlon noted for it’s fast course. In a reversal of Aoife’s result on Wednesday’s Runways duathlon, she used her run to bring her up into 2nd place, passing out Natalie Barnard (UK) to take the 2nd spot.

Aileen Morrison bounced back from a below par performance at the Sydney World Champion Series Triathlon to pick up 2nd at the Triathlon World Cup in Ishigaki, Japan. Gavin Noble finished 24th in the elite men’s race.

With the 2 hot men’s favourites in the Expert race electing not to participate and freakish snow/ sleet/ hail and sunshine providing epic weather conditions on race day it was left to the Munster men to show that they have not left their winning form behind on the tough Series opener in Glendalough.
