Barnardo’s Duathlon – Mullingar

Up until a few years ago the Midlands Duathlon was the last race of the season, so it’s great to see this duathlon back at the Lilliput Adventure center back on the calendar. Now the Duathlon is run as a fundraiser for Barnardos children’s charity.

Midland tri club took away both men’s and women’s honours; Paula Murray and David Fagan.

Eireman-X: off road triathlon – Courtown

Drenched, muddy but Epic is the only way to describe Ireland’s only off-road mountain bike Triathlon and Duathlon that took place in the lush forests of Courtown Harbour, Co. Wexford. One hundred competitors of all levels of fitness took on this challenge in the toughest of conditions. Monsoon rains pelted down on spectators and race marshals but it didn’t dampen the superb atmosphere that has become a hallmark of this intimate race.

Strangford 888 Triathlon – N.Ireland

Victories for two former multiple Irish champions Brian Campbell, Hi Elbow, Larne and Trudy Brown, Real Triathlon at today 888 Triathlon at Strangford.

Distances: swim 888m (or run 4k), cycle 80k & run 8k.

54 from the 70 entries from all over Ireland with a few from Scotland and England finished one of Irelands toughest Triathlons today in South East Down. Taking in some of the iconic landmarks of N.Ireland.
