Results and photos from today’s Duathlon in punchestown, which is the first of the Trax Brasserie Duathlon Series organised by Naas tri Club.

Initial results from the Lost Sheep half-ironman distance triathlon in Kenmare Co. Kerry. This year’s Lost Sheep triathlon was the Irish Triathlon Championships (Long Course) and it looks like both winners will come from Cork, with Eoin Cummins and Joyce Wolfe both having commanding leads on the run.

Today’s Pulse Clogherhead Sprint Triathlon in Co. Louth became a duathlon with a 2.5km run, 20km cycle and 5km run. Amy Wolfe (Cork) was the clear winner in the women’s Irish Olympic distance triathlon championships. She lead from the gun. It was a close battle for 2nd spot with Aoife Lynch (Base2Race/Pulse triathlon club) only assuring her place on the run from Jennifer Duffy (Piranha triathlon). in the mix were former multiple Irish Champion Anne Paul (Triangle) and Deirdre O’Toole (Belpark).

The storm clouds cleared just in time for the start of the July Runway’s Duathlon in the Phoenix Park.

There was a stacked field for the Irish Triathlon Championships (Sprint Distance) in Athlone today. Gavin Noble (Specialized Factory Racing) and Aoife Lynch (Base2Race/Pulse) are the new sprint champions. Bryan McCrystal (Setanta/Primera TBUK) had almost an 11min margin of victory in the Olympic, with Deirdre O’Toole (Belpark) taking the women’s Olympic by 4mins from her club mate Ellen Murphy (Belpark).

Russell White led from the start to win the Crooked Lake triathlon in Camlough by almost 2minutes from Joe Lynch (Pulse Tri) and William McCormack (Belpark). Aoife Lynch (Pulse Tri) pulled away on the 5km run from Trudy Brown to take the women’s victory.
