Lost Sheep Triathlon – Kenmare – Half-Ironman distance

Initial results from the Lost Sheep half-ironman distance triathlon in Kenmare Co. Kerry. Brian Boru Triathlon – Killaloe – Sprint & Olympic

What a difference a week makes. Last weekend Kevin Keane (Belpark/Wheelworx) was 4th at the Irish Triathlon Champs, since then he has two victories and in the process beaten the top two from last week Irish champs. On Wednesday, Kevin won the Formula 1 Duathlon ahead of the new Irish champion Joe Lynch (Pulse). Today he sprinted to victory in the Brian Boru sprint triathlon, leaving last weeks runner up Shane Scully in 4th place.

Lough Neagh Triathlon – Irish Olympic Triathlon Championships 2011 – Ballyronan Triathlon

Amy Wolfe (Cork) was the clear winner in the women’s Irish Olympic distance triathlon championships. She lead from the gun. It was a close battle for 2nd spot with Aoife Lynch (Base2Race/Pulse triathlon club) only assuring her place on the run from Jennifer Duffy (Piranha triathlon). in the mix were former multiple Irish Champion Anne Paul (Triangle) and Deirdre O’Toole (Belpark).

Lough Hyne Triathlon becomes a Duathlon – Baltimore Cork

Due to sea conditions the swim from Baltimore was cancelled, so the race became a 5km, 45km cycle & 10km run. This changed the pre-race tactics significantly. Kevin Keane (Belpark) fresh from his win at the Runways Duathlon was always going to start as the men’s favorite in a Duathlon and duly lead off the first 5km.
