Spokes Duathlon Tramore – 2011

Saturday saw the fourth running of what is now one of Irelands largest Duathlon on the seafront in Tramore, when over 200 competitors took to the start line in glorious Spring sunshine.
Following a week of dreadful weather the omens were not good for a favourable day on Saturday. However morning broke and the southeast was resplendent with Tramore Bay acting as the perfect setting for this early season challenge. There were athletes of all abilities present from all over the country and all were eager to tackle the 3 km run, 16km bike and then 3 km run.

Crystal Clear Triathlon – Waterford

Waterford Triathlon Club stole the show at the first Crystal Clear Triathlon, taking home four of the top 5 spots in the men’s race.  Only for Wexford Wheelers cyclist Kevin Shelly they would have had a clean sweep.  Shelly recently won the time trial in the Gorey 3-Day, so not surprisingly posted the fastest bike split.  Carrick-on-Suir’s [...]

The Spokes Duathlon was the largest race so far this year, with over 200 competitors and big entries from Waterford, Carrick & Ennis Triathlon clubs.  The break through performance was former Munster Road Race Champion; Diane Behan, who won her first ever duathlon.
